The Cesky Krumlov Festival of the Rose is held every year in June. The town is closed off and an entrance fee is required (unless you're wearing a costume) to enter the two day event. There are events all around town scheduled throughout the day consisting of jugglers, dancers, musicians, live chess (with actual people as the chess pieces), belly dancers, snake charmers, concerts, food stands, artisan market, lots more and an epic parade. All of the parade participants are volunteers and can be seen walking around town in their costumes during both days of the Festival along with many other people in costumes who are not part of the parade.
