Ohara is a very small farming village surrounded by the mountains of northern Kyoto. Yoshi and I went together on a day trip that led us to a farmer's market, many farms, Jakkoin Temple, the forest where we discovered steps that led to a small grave site, and an aimless wander. We followed Ohara with a visit to Biwa Lake, the largest lake in Japan where the wind and sprinkles attacked us but we endured. The day was full of rainbows... we were chasing rainbows the entire time. Neither of us had ever seen so many in a single day. I would love to write a book in Ohara.
