In Pasadena and nearby areas the views tend to be mountain views and they are spectacular. However, just yesterday I previewed a condo (loft really) in downtown and the views from there are magical in an entirely different way. I was surprised to learn that a loft with views of the historic part of downtown and a background of tall modern sculptures (as I see them) with 2 underground parking spaces, a very rare commodity, sells for 530,000. That may seem like a lot to some folks and it may seem like a deal to others. I would normally expect half a million bucks to look like half a million bucks but nowadays, not always. Unless you add views. Once you add that very special element the value of where you sit, dine, stand, and even close your eyes at night increases in a way that you can't really put a number on. After living in a small European town for twelve years I think I would find living in the middle of the city a bit of a chaotic challenge, but I have to say, after standing on the rooftop of the building I previewed yesterday; with lounge chairs and rock star views, I could maybe do that. Or at the very least, feel good about helping someone else get into one. Must be really special lit up at night. Reach my way if you want to explore the possibility of a downtown condo or loft for your new landing pad.
